Our mother taught us both to crochet and knit when we were young. Our business started in 2012 with crochet… afghans, hats, scarves, shawls, children’s clothing and the usual potholders and hot-pads. Sharon is by far the better afghan maker and Debra loves the children’s clothing.

Debra dabbles in loom knitting. Many of our hats and scarves are loom knitted now because they are really soft, thick, and warm.

We use predominately 100% acrylic yarn. It is machine washable… really it is! Just toss it in the washer and dry on low or hang it to dry. A lingerie bag is helpful as well so the threads are not pulled by other items in the wash. On occasion we use 100% wool and 100% cotton yarn. Cotton is particularly nice in children’s clothing. Premier makes a really soft cotton yarn that works up like a dream.

The main criteria for yarn-for us. It has to start out SOFT. No scratchy, cheap yarns. So if you pay a little more for our crocheted products, it is because we have high standards for our materials.

We invite you to explore the wide range of crocheted items in our inventory. If you see something you like but would like it in a different color or different size, email us. We may be able to customize it for you. Custom orders take a bit longer but we are always up for the challenge.

90% of our inventory consists of one-of-a-kind items. We rarely make multiples of one thing. If you see something you like go for it! If you love it but it is out of stock, email us.

We were once asked what sets us apart from other comparable crafters? There are many craft sellers out there. We had to think back to comments we had heard many times from our customers. We are NOT mass producers. We don’t make dozens of the same thing. We will make a few hot pads or dishcloths but not dozens. Customers will know that what they purchase is unlike any other. Why is that important you ask? Quilting is a very personal creative outlet. Everything created has its own unique features, so no two creations should look the same. You can be sure that if you purchase a quilt, it looks like no other quilt.

We may use a design not created by us, but our own creativity will make that design unique. We have in our inventory, a variety of styles of quilts and quilted items, from modern to traditional and sizes from small wall hangings to queen size quilts; mug rugs to table toppers. If you don’t see what you want, email us. Let us know what you are thinking about.

Quilting is a passion, ask any quilter. One does not embark on this journey on a whim. We hope you see that in all our offerings.

Although they have been sewing all their lives, strictly sewn products are a recent addition to the 2 Sisters product line.   Of course,  sewing is involved in quilting but this craft line will be, for now, sewn children’s clothing.  There are so many avenues to explore by combining craft mediums, like quilted clothing.  These avenues take time to develop and are for the future.

For now, Debra combines her love for crochet with sewing in her little girl dresses that have a crocheted bodice with a fabric skirt.  A perfect  marriage, especially for summer.   Add a long sleeve shirt and leggings and you have a dress that goes right into fall.
